GKS Katowice has signed a massive promotion. New player of GKS Katowice will be Bartosz Wolski. "Gieksa" is closing a fantastic deal, where it's very hard to find any drawbacks. Bartosz Wolski - at least on paper - perfectly fits into Rafał Górak's puzzle. It's a very well-thought-out transfer, which is also evidenced by the fact that "Gieksa" has been chasing him for a long time. Last winter, it was almost a transfer of the 29-year-old to Katowice, but he eventually decided to extend his contract with Motor to help in the fight for survival. He also made sure to keep a safety net for himself in the form of the mentioned clause. Wolski has the necessary experience and profile to strengthen GKS in principle. Everyone is aware of how demanding Rafał Górak is in terms of tactics and physicality. It's said that most players need at least half a year (or even some full seasons) to adapt to the coach's requirements. As we know, the Katowiczans in the current situation cannot afford to have their new acquisitions go through such a long process of acclimatization. Shortly after the start of the new campaign, "Gieksa" will indeed compete in the Conference League qualifiers, fighting for the coveted participation in the league stage. Bartosz Wolski has played 68 matches in Ekstraklasa, scoring 8 goals and providing 14 assists. He is an example of health: in the last two seasons, he has played in every possible league match (68/68). He is a physical phenomenon, which is evidenced not only by the number of matches played, but also by his statistics. In the last Ekstraklasa campaign, he won an average of 56% of matches against opponents and recovered an average of 4.3 balls per match. The appropriate engagement in defense and pressing is the foundation of Górak's tactics, so we have already ticked off the first aspect. What's also important - Bartosz Wolski excels at beating fixed parts of the game, including free kicks. He has a well-organized foot for place kicks, which may prove crucial in opening some matches (all the more so considering the shooting and physical conditions of the "Gieksy" defenders). The 29-year-old has a good long-range shot (two goals scored from outside the penalty area in the previous season), as well as top creativity (23 created situations in the last two league campaigns). He usually plays as a right "tenth", which is even more important since Bartosz Nowak is already playing on the left side of GKS. GKS Katowice is gearing up for European cups, which must please the fans. Earlier, the club announced the signing of talented 20-year-old Szymon Bartlewicz, also an attacking midfielder, from Chrobry Głogów.
