GKS Katowice players will return to training on June 15. Ahead of them is an intense period of preparations for the 2026/27 season and European cup competition. The 2025/26 PKO BP Ekstraklasa season ended with GKS Katowice finishing 5th in the table, which means they earned the right to play in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers. Immediately after the end of the season, GieKS players went on vacation, from which they return on Monday, June 15. In the days of June 16-17, the Katowice players will undergo physical tests in AWF Katowice, and then they will go to a short training camp in Bielsko-Biała, where they will take a training unit including the conquest of Klimczok. In the days of June 22-02, the team will be staying in Opalenica. In its course, GieKS will play four friendly matches with KS Świt Szczecin, Arka Gdynia, Piast Gliwice, and Miedź Legnica. After returning, the team of coach Rafał Górak will train on their own facilities and play friendly matches with Stal Rzeszów (July 11) and Maccabi Netanya from Israel (July 15). On Thursday, July 23, the Katowice players will play their first match in the 2nd round of the UEFA League qualifiers. Our opponent and the place of the match will be known during the draw, which will take place on June 17. The start of the new PKO BP Ekstraklasa season is scheduled for the weekend of July 25/26.
