The start of the new Ekstraklasa season has been scheduled for the weekend of July 25-26 - this was announced in a GKS statement. GKS Katowice finished the season 25/26 in a great fifth place. As a result, after 23 years, the club from Katowice will play in the European cup qualifying. They will participate in the UEFA Conference League 2026/27 qualifying. GieKSa will be seeded only in the 2nd round. Their potential opponents may be, among others, CSKA 1948 Sofia (Bulgaria), Dinamo Tbilisi (Georgia), Universitatea Cluj (Romania), or Hapoel Tel Awiw (Israel).
