GKS Katowice reacted to the scandalous situation that occurred during the Saturday match of PKO Ekstraklasa against Rakow Częstochowa. The club explained that the short break in the second half of the match had its source outside the mass event area. According to the club's statement, it was outside the stadium that the use of gas by the security services took place, which then spread inside the facility as well. GKS Katowice thanked the fans for their numerous presence and support, but at the same time referred to the incident that disrupted the football celebration. The club apologizes to the fans who were harmed by the pepper gas. In a gesture of solidarity and compensation, the club sent apologies to the affected fans. GKS Katowice invited all fans who were seated on Saturday in sector 15 and could not finish watching the match in comfortable conditions to contact the ticket office. As a compensation, the club will offer a free ticket to a selected GKS Katowice match. The pepper gas incident occurred in the 15th minute of the second half of the match. The fans who were harmed had breathing problems and started running onto the pitch, interrupting the match. GKS Katowice has asked the security company for explanations. The club is aware that the use of direct coercion measures, such as gas, must be supported by real and unbiased arguments.
